Dr. Amy Wong

Dr. Amy Wong graduated on the Dean's Honours' List from the School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, where she also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. She is accredited by the Canadian Examiners in Optometry and certified to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent (TPA) in Canada. She is an active member of both the Ontario Association of Optometrists and Canadian Association of Optometrists.

Dr. Wong has gained a wide range of experience in the treatment of ocular diseases and pre/post-operative ocular surgery care while interning at the Veterans Affairs Medical Hospital in Kentucky. She gained specialized experience at a low vision clinic in Toronto by treating and assisting patients with limited vision due to various ocular conditions/trauma with assistive devices. She has also travelled on a mission trip to Kenya to provide much needed eye care to children and locals at the Mully Family Home of orphaned children, and it is something she hopes she can do again.

Dr. Wong has a special interest in the health of her patient’s eyes. She enjoys educating others that there is much more then what meets the eye to a full eye examination then a prescription for new glasses (though that is important too!). She is fluent in English and Cantonese. During her leisure time, she loves anything to do with music and staying active with yoga and travelling the world.

Please be advised that there is a province wide job action, and we are only seeing patients between the ages of 20-64.

If you are an OHIP covered patient (ages 0-19, >65, or those with Diabetes, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration) please DO NOT call the office to book until further notice.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as red eye, discharge, foreign body, sudden loss of vision, sudden onset of flashes/floater, painful eyes, please call Telehealth Ontario, your Family Physician, or in case of Ocular Emergency, visit your local Emergency Department.
